Museum Partners with Green Bay Botanical Gardens and Stone Silo

a group of people in a gardenAs part of the Museum’s lobby project, the exterior landscaping in the front building also received a new look. Partnering with Mark Konlock, Director of Horticulture at the Green Bay Botanical Garden, and Justin Kroening of Stone Silo Prairie Gardens, the new garden features plants that reflect the native ecosystem, echoing what was seen by those who first built the railroads in Wisconsin. Not only will this garden be the basis of interpretive materials talking about how the railroads changed our environment, but it will also help attract wildlife, sustain butterflies and other beneficial insects and absorb water runoff from the building and paved areas.
