Casting Call for The Polar Express

The National Railroad Museum, under license from Rail Events/Warner Bros., seeks volunteers to present an interactive production based on the book and film “The Polar Express”. This 45-minute live production takes place aboard the Museum’s slow-moving train. There are 5 train cars per performance, and 4 cast members are needed on each train car.

Seeking volunteers for the following roles:

Conductor: Must be able to portray character in the fashion of Tom Hanks. All genders, ability to interact with the audience. 45-min. role.

Steward: Conductor’s counterpart. Takes the lead in train safety, while also interacting with the audience.  45-min. role.

Hobo: All genders, high-energy, assertive, strong-voiced. Non-singer. 10-15 min role. 

Polar Express Passenger: All genders, one of the passengers who ride on the Polar Express to the North Pole. 5-10 min role.

All Cast Members must bring forth high-energy, be a team player, and utilize improvisational skills. We welcome a diverse cast and gladly except individuals of all abilities and acting experience. For more information about The Polar Express Train Rides, please click here.

Open House

The Museum will be hosting an Open House on Tuesday, September 17 from 5:30 – 6:30 pm. Everyone is welcomed to attend!

During the Open House, individuals can ask questions and get more information about the production of The Polar Express, as well as the expectations and experience of Cast Members. The Open House is purely an informative session.

Audition

Auditions will be held at the National Railroad Museum on Tuesday, September 24 and Thursday, September 26 from 5:30 – 7:30 pm. To sign-up, please click here.

Please note – Cast Members aren’t required to attend every performance but are expected to commit to a minimum of 3 nights of performances.
